Financial capacity building for the implementation of REDD+ Strategy for the Yucatan Peninsula

The Climate Change Fund for the Yucatan Peninsula (FCPY) was constituted in 2012 to enable the implementation of the region-wide REDD+ Strategy. To increase its impact potential and financial sustainability, it’s financial capabilities needed to be expanded and bolstered.

Solution

By analyzing the current conditions of the FCPYand by mapping the national and international climate change financialmechanisms, a restructuring was made bestowing it of governance andadministrative tools to capture and disseminate resources efficiently andtransparently.
