Urbanization is one of the main trends in the 21st century that is transforming economic and social development globally; By 2050, 75% of the population will live in urban areas.
Cities are responsible for around 75% of primary energy consumption and approximately 70% of greenhouse gas emissions.
The challenges of sustainable development such as air pollution, equitable access to energy and water, waste management, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, among others, will increasingly be concentrated in cities. However, a continuous growth in urban infrastructure is expected. Therefore, urban infrastructure is key to contribute in developing a low carbon, sustainable and resilient society.
In this context, Ithaca has the following services to support its clients:
We support developers of low carbon infrastructure projects , both public and private, in the preparation of their projects to access funding sources.
1. We evaluate the existing documentation of projects around issues of governance, economic and financial viability, technical, legal and socio-environmental feasibility to identify existing information gaps that allow projects to reach an investment grade.
2. We train people and organizations to prepare and document projects according to financial institution standards, from the definition of the project, evaluation of options and construction of the business case.
We collaborate with private financial institutions and development banks in the design of financing mechanisms for low carbon projects and infrastructure, including energy efficiency and renewable energy.
